Community Action Project
This project allows students to apply psychological principles to improve lives and change communities in positive ways. Students develop a community action plan that tackles a social issue students are passionate about that occurs in their community.

Weekly Worksheets
Each week, students and groups will complete these weekly worksheets to brainstorm their action project and scaffold each part of the project proposal.
- Individual Inventory: Students complete a survey about what social issues they are interested in, whether that is related to their experiences, communities, or career goals.
- Brainstorm and Issue Selection: In their groups, they then go through a mind mapping brainstorm activity to decide on their social issue they will work on for the course.
- Strategize: Groups think about possible strategies to address a small portion of this social issue. This day is coupled with a lesson on social change.
- Application: Groups discuss how psychology can be applied or relates to their social issue.
- Peer Review: Members of each group provide feedback on other classmates’ project and strategy prior to giving their final presentation.
